What matters for your family
Choose a frame around who will manage it and what they need to do. ViewClix combines family administration with photos, Sticky Notes and Premier calling; initial setup and some network problems still need local help.
Choose ViewClix when…
- Your loved one wants to enjoy the frame while family manages the details.
- You want trusted-person permissions for sharing and video calls.
- Photos, notes and live family conversations belong in the same daily routine.
Choose an organizer before choosing the gift
Agree on a family member who will handle setup, invitations and occasional questions. The ViewClix Frame Organizer maintains the Share List of trusted people. Other members can be given permission to help with pictures or Sticky Notes.
Give everyone a manageable role. One sibling might keep the photos current while another sends family updates. Agree with the recipient about what they want to receive, especially notes and incoming calls. Remote management should support their preferences, not turn the frame into another obligation.
Know what you can do from home
Family can share through the ViewClix app or Member Portal. Frame settings provide controls for the experience, while the Share List controls family access. You can keep adding everyday moments without asking your loved one to upload files or manage everyone's accounts.
Make the content personal: a note about tomorrow's family visit, a new picture from a familiar place, or a Premier video call after a special occasion. Decide on a pace the recipient enjoys and check in about it. A smaller stream of meaningful updates can be easier to appreciate than a flood of pictures.
Remote does not mean every problem can be fixed remotely
The frame needs power and internet to receive remote updates. A helper should connect it at its destination and test sharing and calling. If it goes offline, first arrange a check of power and the network. ViewClix will try to reconnect after a temporary network outage while it remains plugged in.
Use a sleep schedule for a predictable evening routine. Also keep the contact details of someone who can help onsite if a router changes or a cable is unplugged. A clear local backup makes long-distance family management more practical.
Compare the controls you will actually use
Remote settings are not unique to ViewClix. Aura lets invited members adjust most settings; Skylight offers remote device settings with Frame Plus. Ask whether you need photo sharing alone or also want notes and live conversations on the same device.
For a new ViewClix frame, Premier is required for calling and additional features. Photo sharing and Sticky Notes remain available after cancellation. Compare the ongoing service alongside your family's needs, then choose the frame size around where it will be enjoyed.
Questions families ask
Can more than one person help with the frame?
The Frame Organizer manages trusted contacts and can grant permissions for pictures or Sticky Notes. Adding or changing an organizer involves ViewClix support, as described in the organizer guide below.
Does remote management work while the frame is offline?
The frame needs power and a working connection to receive changes. Someone nearby may need to check the outlet, cable or network before remote functions can work again.
What remains if Premier is canceled?
Photo sharing and Sticky Notes remain available. Calling and the other Premier features are disabled. See the current membership details before choosing your frame.
