What matters for your family
ViewClix can answer an approved family member's call automatically when auto-answer is enabled. Arrange the experience with your parent, set up the frame with a helper, and make a real call before relying on the routine.
Choose ViewClix when…
- Finding or answering a phone screen is the step you want to simplify.
- Your parent is comfortable receiving calls from selected family members.
- A family organizer and an initial onsite helper are available.
How an ordinary call can work
A family member starts the video call from the ViewClix app or Member Portal. With auto-answer enabled, your parent does not need to open an app or press a button to join. Calling requires an active Premier membership.
Plan a first conversation with something easy to share: a birthday wish, a grandchild's news or the view from your garden. A short, familiar call lets everyone get comfortable with the sound, camera and screen before trying a longer visit.
Agree on the welcome before the first ring
Explain what automatic answering means and ask your parent which people and times feel comfortable. The Frame Organizer manages the Share List. Keep that list intentional and revisit it when family circumstances change.
Auto-answer is optional. If your parent prefers to answer manually, disable it; an incoming caller's name appears and any remote button answers. In shared rooms, follow ViewClix's guidance to disable auto-answer and arrange privacy with anyone present. The aim is a welcome conversation that respects the person at home.
Prepare the spot where conversations will happen
A helper should connect the frame to power and Wi-Fi, position it toward the usual seat, and make a test call from outside the home network. Check that both sides can see a face and hear a comfortable conversation. Confirm the caller's camera and microphone permissions too.
Keep a way to reach someone nearby if power or internet needs attention. Auto-answer simplifies receiving a call; it cannot make a call connect through an outage. ViewClix is for family communication, not continuous camera monitoring or emergency response.
Build a routine your family can keep
Agree on a few natural moments for calls instead of leaving the frame to become another unused gift. Invite siblings to take turns. Send a picture before a call so there is already a shared moment to talk about.
Compare both ViewClix sizes around the room and viewing distance. Choose a place your parent already enjoys, then choose the frame that fits it. The next step is a comfortable setup and a conversation they look forward to.
Questions families ask
Does my parent have to press a button?
Not to receive a call when ViewClix auto-answer is enabled. Manual answering is available if they prefer it. Initial setup still requires connecting the frame and configuring family access.
Can my parent start a call from the frame?
Family members initiate ViewClix video calls. The optional Call-Me feature lets the person at the frame use the remote to request a callback from an eligible family contact by SMS.
Will it work if the internet is down?
Live calls need working internet at both ends. Arrange local help for connection or power problems and keep your existing ways to contact one another.
